Video Recipe: Punjabi Kadhi-Chawal




  • Curd
  • Gram flour
  • Oil
  • Cumin seeds
  • Asafoetida
  • Green Chilli
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Turmeric
  • Salt
  • Jeera rice

1. In a big mixing bowl, whisk curd with gram flour and water till it forms a smooth mixture without any lumps
2. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and asafoetida
3. When the cumin seeds start to crackle, add green chilli, ginger and garlic
4. Stir well and add the curd mixture with one hand while stirring constantly with the other hand
5. Add turmeric and salt
6. Let it simmer while stirring constantly till it starts boiling
7. Serve with jeera rice
